In the story, The Doll's House, by Katherine Mansfield, The story tells about the lives of 3 middle class children who recieve a doll's house from their family friend Mrs. Hays. As they choose their friends to let them see the doll's house (or Isabel picks the people who see the house), but they don't show it to two poor sisters. The story shines on the cruelty younger children give to each other without even caring.
Katherine Mansfield was born in Wellington New Zealand in 1888. With her and her two sisters, she was sent to London, and she met her friend Ida Baker, which later on becomes her life long friend. By 21 she had an affair with Garnett Trowell and became pregnant. She married George Bowden, but left him the same day. She also had a miscarriage. With all the events happening, it influeced her to write the German Pension. She married again to John Middleton Murray, but her health became to fail with tuberculosis. At 34 she died
